6/23-6/24/09 Post-Ironman CDA

I came back from Ironman CDA which was Sunday June 21 yesterday Tuesday 6/23/09 so I was without MVP for about 2 days after the race.

Right after the race, I sat in a bathtub full of ice for 10 minutes, and then I drank 2 of (2 Recoverite packets + 1 whey protein packet + Emergen-C), 4 BCAAs, 2 Glutamine pills. I ate a pasta, egg, and sausage meal and went to sleep!

Monday I was pretty stiff, although I think I was stiffer in years past which is good in showing my added recovery rate. Going up and down stairs was still painful. I drank lots of protein powder, BCAAs, Glutamine tablets, and Emergen-C.

No pain in my legs, although my right knee was acting up and still was a bit complaining upon walking.

I also did a home session of Graston to work through some of my knots, and the fascia around my knees.

Tuesday I was much better. I could walk up and down stairs although still stiff. Tuesday night I got back to my place and did a 1:00 MVP session. Drank a serving of Ultragen+2 scoops Glutamine powder + protein powder.

Wednesday 6/24/09 I got up and did another 1:00 MVP session. They are noticeably looser today although I have not tried to go up and down stairs yet this morning. Still a bit of tightness I feel in the legs when I contract muscles but they are definitely looser when I walk. Lots of TP Massage roller, foam roller, and lacrosse ball later.

Drank a glass of milk with protein powder + glutamine powder, 4 BCAAs, Emergen-C.

Both 1:00 MVP sessions did not result in numb feet, so I'm glad for that.
